Trainer / Support Specialist

Hourly Rate : $60 – $65/hour

Job Description

The Trainer / Support Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering comprehensive end-user training and post–go-live support for the upgraded IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.x system. This role ensures that Staten Island Ferry users are fully prepared to adopt the new system, understand updated workflows, and effectively perform their daily responsibilities in a mission-critical transportation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver structured onsite and remote training sessions for end users, supervisors, and administrators across functional areas (Maintenance, Inventory, Procurement, H&S, Management).

• Create clear, role-based training materials, including user manuals, quick reference guides, job aids, and e-learning content.

• Translate complex Maximo workflows and system functionality into easy-to-understand instructional materials.

• Support UAT planning and execution by assisting users with test scripts and system navigation.

• Provide hypercare support during and after go-live, including issue triage, user assistance, and coordination with functional and technical teams.

• Document common issues, resolutions, and FAQs to support ongoing operations.

• Assist DOT with onboarding new users and conducting refresher or ad-hoc training sessions as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience delivering software or enterprise system training.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Training experience in government, transportation, or safety-critical environments.

• Prior experience training users on Maximo or other enterprise asset management systems.
